From Day One to Test Day and Beyond

Getting your CDL does not have to feel confusing or overwhelming. At Heavy Haulers CDL and Equipment Academy, we have built a clear step by step training path that takes you from day one to test day and into the workforce with confidence.

What to Expect at Every Stage

Step 1 - Start the Conversation

Every student begins with a simple intake process. We talk through your goals, availability, and which license or upgrade makes the most sense for you.
Step 2 - Permit Prep and Classroom Instruction

Classroom instruction focuses on real understanding, not memorization. Everything is taught clearly and practically, with direct connection to what you will do in the truck.
Step 3 - Hands On Yard Training

In the yard, you will work directly with the equipment you will test and work on. Backing maneuvers, coupling and uncoupling, and full pre trip walk throughs are practiced repeatedly with instructor guidance.
Step 4 - Real World Road Training

You will drive local routes and highways, learning lane control, turning, shifting, and defensive awareness while building comfort behind the wheel. Routes are designed to closely mirror test conditions so there are no surprises on exam day.
Step 5 - Test Day Preparation

We prepare you for the exact structure of the CDL exam, from pre trip to skills to road testing. Procedures, expectations, and sequences are practiced until they become routine.
Step 6 - CDL Testing and Licensing

You will complete your CDL exam with the same equipment and processes you trained on. Our instructors are focused on one thing, making sure you are prepared to pass safely and correctly.
Step 7 - Career Readiness and Next Steps

Graduates move into driving and equipment related roles across local, municipal, and construction positions. Some students train with a job already lined up, while others use their CDL to create more career options and higher earning potential.
