Heavy Haulers CDL and Equipment Academy is a locally owned and operated training school based in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. We’re not a national chain or an out-of-state operation. Our ownership, instructors, and roots are local, and our focus is building skilled drivers and equipment operators for the New Hampshire workforce.

We believe earning a CDL or learning to operate equipment should prepare you for more than just test day. Our goal is to help students step into the field ready to work—with the skills, habits, and mindset local employers expect from day one.

Training is hands-on from the start and built around how the job actually works. Students train on professional-grade equipment, follow clear standards, and learn procedures that translate directly to real driving and job site conditions. Everything is designed to build confidence, consistency, and accountability.

We intentionally keep class sizes small so every student receives personal instruction and real feedback. Our instructors work closely with each student to reinforce strengths, correct gaps, and ensure readiness before moving forward—because preparation matters.

Our training team brings decades of combined experience in CDL driving, equipment operation, emergency services, and safety-focused instruction. That real-world background shapes how we teach, grounding every lesson in practical experience, not theory alone.

    As the owner of Mountainshade Excavation and a respected Deputy Chief with the Jaffrey Fire Department, Keith brings real-world leadership and field experience to Heavy Haulers. He ensures the academy is equipped with professional-grade facilities and the same equipment students will use on the job. With a clear understanding of what employers actually look for in drivers and operators, Keith helps shape training that prepares students for real careers, not just a test.

    A seasoned leader with deep roots in the military and public safety, Brett brings discipline, clarity, and real accountability to Heavy Haulers’ training programs. His experience leading teams in high-pressure, mission-critical environments shapes an approach that goes beyond technical skills. By emphasizing teamwork, time management, and professional leadership, Brett helps students build the habits and mindset needed for long-term success in their careers.

His background in compliance and safety helped shape the principles and standards on which the school was built. A strong belief in workforce development continues to drive the mission—helping young people launch successful careers, supporting career changers with a clear and practical pathway forward, and providing retired individuals an opportunity to remain engaged in meaningful, steady roles with a strong sense of purpose.
